A timeline of the site, from the first WordPress version in 2009 to the present Hugo version.
v6 current
2026 - loriv.al
A new Hugo theme was built, now with a less minimalist look and with dark and light modes. The dark mode has a more cyberpunk look. In this version I also improved my journey and added a dedicated tab for stats. And I had some fun hiding a few easter eggs around the site.
v5
2017 - loriv.al
I built it from scratch in Hugo and hosted it on GitHub Pages. The personal site no longer has a portfolio, it became just a business card, and in its place I put a page about my journey. I focused on a more minimalist design, with support for English and Portuguese. I also went back to writing the blog, but on another domain: fullstackhacker.com, so I ended up with two domains, loriv.al for the personal side and the other one for the blog.
v4
2016 - lorival.com.br
Still on WordPress, it was basically a visual revision. Layout recovered from the Internet Archive.
v3
2015 - lorival.com.br
Here the change was in the hosting and in the domain: it moved to lorival.com.br, now hosted at Webhaus. Unfortunately I could not recover the blog layout. This is where I stopped writing the blog and the site became a repository of the projects I was working on. Layout recovered from the Internet Archive.
v2
2011 - blog.lorival.com
Still hosted on WordPress, but now on the lorival.com domain, at blog.lorival.com. I added events I went to, books I was reading and started to write more about best practices and software architecture. It is nice to see that back in 2010 I was already writing about the books I was reading, about SOLID and agile methodologies. Layout recovered from the Internet Archive.
v1
2009 - lorival.wordpress.com
My first blog at lorival.wordpress.com. I started writing to share what I was studying at the time, mostly because I was at university, with posts on design patterns and best practices. I still remember some classmates reading it and talking with me about the topics. Layout recovered from the Internet Archive.
